New participants must be referred and vouched for by an existing brigade member to ensure quality is maintained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:47px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-x-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>How does it work?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Before the brigade, registered participants receive music and part-predominant learning tracks for 11 songs. Each participant is obligated to have memorized their part prior to the event.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Quartets are formed by random draw and revealed following the Friday evening dinner. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All quartets are assigned a song with which to compete Friday evening. A guest quartet forms the judging panel.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The top 10 quartets compete Saturday evening.&nbsp; They draw a random song as they enter the stage to compete.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Those who arrive early visit local schools on Friday morning to sing to choral students.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Saturday morning begins with a chapter business meeting, followed by a group rehearsal, in preparation for a community show Saturday evening prior to the Top 10 contest.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Who can participate in a brigade?&nbsp; The High Sierra Harmony Brigade is part of the Association of eXtreme Quartetting Harmony Brigades (see link in the About menu).
